“Trauma does not have to be a lifelong sentence, with the right support, right condition, we can transform from it. I am here to support.”

A Little About Me
Growing up in a small seaside village in China, I have always been fascinated by people, nature, and relationships. Many of my childhood summers were spent people watching and or getting lost in a good book. My initial motivation to study psychology came from a simple desire of wanting to know more about myself and the people around me. For example, why I am feeling the way I do, why people do what they do, and what prompts positive change?
Later, an unexpected life event led me to seek counselling during my university years. I didn’t remember what my counsellor said to me, but I always remembered the way that she made me feel. Her gentle presence, genuine curiosity, and care empowered me to explore, trust again, and ultimately heal. I later pursued Psychology and Educational Counselling as my majors at Simon Fraser University. I worked as a rehabilitation advisor for 6 years at a local non-profit organization that supported people from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds who were facing physical and mental health struggles. The diverse range of challenges these vulnerable individuals and their families faced were immensely valuable and educational. I have also had the privilege to witness their resilience, and inner ability to heal, transform, and create lives that they enjoy.
These experiences also inspired me to go back to school to deepen my knowledge of Psychology. I completed my MA degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. During my practicum, I completed two practicums (800 hours) at Turning Point Therapy and Vancouver Film School, with a focus in trauma, depression, anxiety, identity issues, and relationship struggles. My mission is to create a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where people can explore, express, and ultimately begin to reclaim their power back.
